Nussbach
This straw top hat has origins in straw weaving factories, for which it was and still is the symbol. The straw top hat is most commonly worn in the High Black Forest, where the hats were even produced on an industrial scale.
It was once a flourishing craft that put food on the table for many people working at home. There are still pattern books with hundreds of woven patterns that exist to this day.
The Nussbach women‘s garb is the only one in the Black Forest with a straw hat and it is still worn today. This garb is proudly worn by the approximately 45 active musicians who make up the Nussbach traditional garb band.
